The Non Credit Division comprises 16 major program areas. The Non Credit Division at CEC provides noncredit programs in the following categories: ESL/ABE and Civics Education, Adult Basic Education, Short-term Career and Technical Education Programs (Apparel Skills, Apprenticeship Preparation Program, Business Office Systems, Career Planning and Student Development Program, Entrepreneur Success Program, High School Diploma Program, and GED, Parent Education/Seniors and Disabled Adults, and Printing Technology), as well as a Foster and Kinship Care Program. Most noncredit programs are open entry, open exit programs, and offered year round. The Center also offers a credit Cosmetology program at the site.
There are no enrollment fees for non-credit classes. Students pay for course related materials. Enrollment/Tuition fees are required for credit classes at CEC.
The mission of the Non Credit Division at CEC is to serve a diverse community focusing on capability, flexibility and empowerment. The division offers comprehensive educational resources such as technical and academic courses including ABE, HSDP/GED, ESL, parent education, enrichment classes for seniors and disabled students, noncredit vocational, and a wealth of support programs.
The Non Credit Division's primary mission is to facilitate the Pasadena City College overall mission to provide a standard of excellence and high quality instruction toward increasing the numbers of successfully prepared transfer students, and provide a more capable workforce to meet the needs of current trends.
The Non Credit Division at the Community Education Center (CEC) is located at 3035 East Foothill Boulevard in Pasadena, CA, 91107-3106. Major cross streets are San Gabriel Blvd. and Sierra Madre Villa Ave. We are approximately 2 miles east of the main College campus.
