FUTURE CERTIFICATE OF ILLUSTRATION

Requirements for this program tract (48 units)

The illustration courses examine various aspects or contemporary illustration. Students create illustrations with an emphasis on story, editorial, and advertising applications. All courses emphasize concept development as well as exploring a variety of media.

Semester I

  • Art 11A - Foundation Drawing
  • Art 31A - Color and Composition - Two Dimensional Design
  • Photo 21 - Elementary Photography
  • AND one of the following:
  • Art 1A - History of Western Art
  • Art 1B - History of Western Art
  • Art 5- Art Fundamentals

Semester II

  • Art 15 - Sketching for Design
  • Art 12A - Life drawing-Beginning
  • Art 16 - Perspective
  • Art 32A - Three Dimensional Design

Semester III

  • Art 20A - Painting
  • Art 52 - Illustration
  • Art 18 - Rendering
  • Art 11B - Concepts in Drawing

Semester IV

  • Art 31B- Design-Advanced Two Dimensional
  • Art 50A- Introduction to Advertising Graphic Design
  • Art 12B - Life drawing-Advanced
  • AND one of the following:
  • Art 20B - Painting
    OR Art 22A - Watercolor Painting
    OR Art 24 - Printmaking-silk screen
