SEPTEMBER

The planning process for the next academic year begins. College goals for the current year and strategic directions for the following year are distributed. For example, in September 2007 the College goals for 2007-08 and the strategic directions for 2008-09 are distributed. Managers are directed to develop goals in their annual plan to support the accomplishment of the College's goals for the current year and the future strategic directions of the College.

Program plans with goals are developed. |
| NOVEMBER TO DECEMBER |
Unit Plans with goals are developed based upon the Program Plans. |
| DECEMBER |
Resource requests for technology and facilities are extracted from the Unit Plans and analyzed. The analysis is used to provide input to the development of Area Plans and may result in adjustments to the Unit Plans of the service providers. This process helps integrate planning and budgeting |
| JANUARY |
A mid-year status report on what has been accomplished onthe College's goals for the year is brough to the Board of Trustees. |
| JANUARY TO FEBRUARY PLANS |
Area Plans with goals are develped based upon the Unit |
| MARCH TO APRIL |
The Goals Subcommittee of the Strategic Planning Team reviews the Area Plans' goals for the coming year and what has been accomplished to date on the current year's College goals. Using these documents, the committee develops a draft of the College's goals for the next year and a draft of the College's strategic directions for two years in the future. |
| APRIL |
The Board gives direction to their representatives who will attend the Strategic Planning Team Retreat. |
| MAY |
At a day-long retreat, the Strategic Planning Team reviews what has been accomplished on the current year's College goals, the Area Plans for the coming year and the drafts of the College's goals and strategic directions developed by the Goals Subcommittee. The Planning Team develops the final versions of the College's goals for the coming year and strategic directions for the year after the next. |
| JULY |
College goals for the current year and the strategic directions for the following year are brought to the Board. (Note: these are the goals and strategic directions that were developed at the May retreat; however, because a new academic year has begun, the year to which the goals and strategic directions apply must be referred to differently.) |

A Year-End Report on the prior year's College goals is brought to the Board. |
| AUGUST |
The President's goals for the current year are brought to the Board. The Board adopts its goals for the current year. |
