Dr. Floyd taught Math at PJC from 1939-42.
In 1942, he set up PJC's "Desert Campus", in Baker, where he put together a pre-flight training program for the Navy.
From 1952-54, he was Assistant Principal for Educational Development at PJC.
He returned to PCC in 1967, where he served as Vice President until 1974.
He was Deputy Superintendent of PUSD and PCC from 1974 to 1976, when he became President of PCC.
During his tenure, he made changes in the Administrative hierarchy, creating four Vice President positions from former Dean-level positions.
1976 - Passage of Proposition 13, which eliminated tax rate increases and bond issues, thereby decreasing state revenues and leading to massive cuts in state funding, including to the community colleges. PCC was not to go unscathed.
