President's Asian Advisory Committee
In September of 2008, Dr. Paulette Perfumo and Carol Liu, the first Asian woman in the California State Senate, convened the President’s Asian Advisory Committee. The Committee is a bridge between this educational institution and the diverse ethnic and geographical communities of the PCC district.
Mission: To support PCC’s commitment to the life-long learning goals of Asian
and Pacific Islander students and community members
Goals:
- To encourage diverse Asian American students to achieve academic, and career/technical
educational success.
- to increase enrollment of underrepresented Asian and Pacific Islander groups
- to increase representation of Asian and Pacific Islanders as college employees and in all aspects of campus activities.
- to improve outreach and enhance the image of PCC in Asian and Pacific Islander communities.
- to better incorporate Asian American topics and concerns in PCC curriculum and campus
programming.
