Mike Jones
Assistant Athletic Director
Biography

Mike Jones, a head coach for men's basketball here in 2004-2006, was hired as Pasadena City College's new Assistant Athletic Director in February of 2007.

Jones is active in the South Coast Conference, serving as a representative for women's softball. He serves as a liason from the Kinesiology, Health and Athletics Division with the college's eligibility office. Jones also is involved heavily in the game management for PCC home athletic events.

In the 2004-2005 season, Jones directed the PCC men's basketball team to an exciting run in winning the Santa Ana Holiday Tournament, beating a high-ranked Mt. San Antonio College squad for the tourney title. He was head coach on a part-time basis for that season and resigned after the 2005-2006 season.

Jones was an assistant under retired PCC coach George Terzian in the 2002-2003 season, after serving a similar role under Terzian from 1994-97. From 1999-2002, Jones worked as an assistant coach for the PCC women's basketball team on head coach Joe Peron's staff. The women's basketball team won a South Coast Conference title in 1999-2000.

In 1998-99, Jones was a top assistant for NAIA Southern California College men's basketball program. From 1985-89, he served as an assistant coach at Pasadena High School. Early in his assistant coaching career, Jones was on the staff for the 1978-79 and ‘80-81 LA City champion Manual Arts High basketball teams.

A PCC alumnus himself, Jones later earned a business degree and two master's degrees in Physical Education and Organizational Management at Azusa Pacific University.

Jones and his wife, Jenelle, are residents of Altadena. Jones is the father of three adult children in sons Idris and Ozier, and daughter Saran.
