Every sport has its ultimate moments of excitement, but few can change on a dime the way things happen in the sport of soccer. On Friday, the Pasadena City College men's soccer team pulled a rabbit out of its hat, rallying for a 2-2, non-conference tie v. state semifinalist Santa Ana at Robinson Stadium.

The home fans finally had something to cheer about Saturday. The Pasadena City College football team won for the first time at Robinson Stadium since 2011 by posting a 19-7, SCFA non-conference victory over Los Angeles Harbor.

In this the 16th season of Pasadena City College women's water polo, the Lancers eclipsed a school record for most goals in a game in a South Coast Conference rout over visiting Los Angeles Trade Tech, 26-5, Wednesday at the Aquatic Center.

Today's scheduled women's soccer game between Pasadena City College at Cuyamaca College in El Cajon was postponed due to heavy thunderstorms and winds that hit the area hard Tuesday afternoon.

(El Cajon) -- A 34-yard field goal by Brendon Chitura with just 2:20 left sent the Pasadena City College football team to a 17-14 loss against host Grossmont in a SCFA non-conference game Saturday afternoon. The Lancers dropped to 0-2 on the season.

The Pasadena City College men's soccer team unleashed an arsenal offensively at visiting Santa Monica and entered the win column for the first time in three matches, 4-0, Friday in a non-conference game at Robinson Stadium.

Pasadena City College women's cross country sophomore Ashley Medina ran a time of 19 minutes, 15 seconds to place eighth overall covering the 5-kilometer, El Monte Legg Lake course at the Rio Hondo Classic held September 5. Medina (Arroyo High) helped the Lancers take fifth place out of seven scoring teams.

After leading the Pasadena City College men's soccer team in scoring the past two seasons, forward Luis Flores has joined the professional ranks by becoming a member of the Santa Tecla FC in El Salvador. Santa Tecla plays in that country's First Division.

Inducted into the Pasadena City College Sports Hall of Fame in October of last year, Lancers women's basketball great Dionne Pounds continues to show off her playing talents in Europe. A two-time PCC Women's Athlete of the Year in 2003-04 and 2004-05, Pounds recently led Catz Lappeenranta to its third consecutive Finnish League championship.

Armand Crespo, the school's long-time cross country head coach, was selected to direct the Pasadena City College men's and women's track and field teams for the 2014-2015 school year, effective immediately.  Crespo is now head coach for four of the PCC's 16 intercollegiate athletics program.

Pasadena City College Athletics announced that Dr. Michael McClellan will now lead the area's intercollegiate sports eligibility office as an associate athletic director in charge of compliance. McClellan will work in concert with PCC Athletic Director Tony Barbone.
