The Pasadena City College women's volleyball team opened the 2015 season by giving Kari Post her first head coaching victory in a grueling, 5-set triumph over Mt. San Jacinto Wednesday night before a lively crowd at Hutto-Patterson Gymnasium. PCC won, 25-17, 23-25, 25-20, 23-25, 15-11.

In 2013, the Pasadena City College men's soccer team had its finest season under now fifth-year head coach Edgar Manvelyan when the Lancers reached the SoCal Playoffs. After a forgettable '14 campaign, PCC is hoping to return to form and compete once again for a postseason berth this season.

One thing was clear about the Pasadena City College women's soccer team last season--offense did not come easy. The Lancers struggled to score goals, especially during the South Coast Conference schedule. As the 2015 season approaches, PCC head coach Reggie Rivas thinks the team should be better in that area while continuing to be a solid defensive unit.

The 1938 Pasadena Junior College football team, featuring the college's greatest alumnus Jackie Robinson, is part of a 2015-16 class that includes six athletes and two coaches selected to be inducted into the PCC Sports Hall of Fame. The choices were made by the college's HOF committee. The newest class will be inducted in a special ceremony at the GM Athletics Building scheduled for January 24, 2016.

Pasadena City College baseball team freshmen Justin Cage and Joe Quire helped lead the Loveland Blue Jays (Colorado) to the Centennial State League championship. The Lancers pair played in the collegiate summer wood bat league that recently concluded this month.

After two sparkling seasons at Pasadena City College, men's basketball center Faruk Oyalade signed his scholarship letter of intent Tuesday to attend and play at the University of Antelope Valley (Lancaster). The 6-foot-7 incoming junior will play for the NAIA Pioneers in their inaugural season of basketball in 2015-16.

Nora To'omalatai, a two-time All-South Coast Conference outside hitter for Pasadena City College's women's volleyball team in 2012-13, is playing for the American Samoa national team this week at the XV Pacific Games held in Port Moresby, New Guinea.
