Games are hand-timed and some extend beyond the intended regulation 90 minutes due to injury stoppages. Players, coaches, and fans can guess when game time is over, but the reality is the referee's game watch and subsequent blown whistle is the ultimate end game.

Pasadena City College women's soccer team sophomore goalie Angelique Ulmer became the Lancers' all-time leader in shutouts Friday as she made four saves to backstop PCC's 2-0 blanking of El Camino College-Compton Center at Robinson Stadium. Ulmer recorded her 12th career shutout, breaking the two-year school record set by Andrea Otero in 1998-1999.

The Pasadena City College women's cross country team placed ninth out of 14 scoring teams at the Mt. San Antonio Invitational meet held October 17. Placing 34th individually, Edna Bailon edged teammate Ashley Medina for the fastest PCC mark at 19:54.5 over the 3-mile course. Medina was 35th at 19:54.9.

Freshman Nathan Guzman placed 46th overall to again be the fastest Pasadena City College men's cross country runner at the Mt. San Antonio Invitational held October 17 in Walnut. Guzman covered the 4-mile course in a time of 22:30.5.

The slumping Pasadena City College men's soccer team lost its third straight South Coast Conference game, beaten by Long Beach City College, 1-0, Tuesday at Robinson Stadium. The Lancers have scored just eight goals in their last eight matches resulting in a 2-4-2 record in that span.

The Vikings downed PCC, 26-24, 14-25, 25-21, 20-25, 15-6, at Hutto-Patterson Gymnasium. It was the first time this season that the Lancers played a match to five games.

Playing with only two subs due to injuries and flu Friday, the unranked Pasadena City College women's soccer team took everything that visiting SoCal No. 10-ranked East Los Angeles College threw at it. Twice, the Lancers rallied from 1-goal deficits and pulled out a 2-2, South Coast Conference tie at Robinson Stadium.

Quarterback Trevor Hampton completed the contest's opening drive with an 11-yard touchdown pass to running back Zander Anding. The play capped a 75-yard series that saw Hampton connect on all six of his attempts and give PCC a 7-0 lead.

Southwestern, the Pasadena City College women's water polo team found a new go-to netminder.

The Huskies and Lancers played in a playoff bowl game that finished in a 14-14 tie, but with no overtime rules, ELAC advanced due to having the most yards of total offense while PCC's magical season came to a close.

Although the Pasadena City College women's water polo team is stuck in a 6-game losing streak, the Lancers have seen two sophomores make strides in their performance. Center-forward Stephanie Velasco has once again become a go-to goal scorer, now with 24 goals in eight games while goaltender Alenoush Aslanian proved to be the team's best player at the recent Cabrillo Tournament.

Right now, it's the only "win" PCC has recorded in a rough 0-6 match start to the 2014 season. The Lancers played hard in in a 4-set loss to Pierce, but were swept by unranked Bakersfield and No. 20 San Diego Mesa.

Inducted into the Pasadena City College Sports Hall of Fame in October of last year, Lancers women's basketball great Dionne Pounds continues to show off her playing talents in Europe. A two-time PCC Women's Athlete of the Year in 2003-04 and 2004-05, Pounds recently led Catz Lappeenranta to its third consecutive Finnish League championship.
