Sophomores Ponce, D'Antignac, Luevano Give Football Sweep of SCFA POW Awards image The Pasadena City College football team swept the second set of SCFA National Northern Conference Player of the Week awards thanks to highlight performances in the Lancers' 53-0 win over El Camino College Compton Center Sept. 12.The sophomore trio of quarterback Nick Ponce (Offense), cornerback Taurus D'Antignac (Defense), and placekicker Nick Luevano (Special Teams) were honored for their achievements in the triumph. Ponce (from Arcadia High) came off the bench to complete 17 of 23 passes for 263 yards and 4 touchdowns. D'Antignac (Fairfax High) intercepted 2 passes to spur the defense. Luevano (Pasadena High) set a new PCC record for longest field goal, kicking a 49-yarder in the first quarter and making 6-for-6 on extra points. PCC hosts East Los Angeles College Saturday, Sept. 19 in a 6 p.m. non-conference kickoff at Robinson Stadium.
