Women's Cross Country Runner van der Wyk 24th At UCR Invite image

Pasadena City College women's cross country runner Tracee van der Wyk (pictured) raced to 24th overall in the 5-kilomer open race at the UC Riverside Invitational Sept. 19. Van der Wyk's time of 19 minutes, 21.3 seconds was 13th among runners from college teams in a race that featured 166 competitors overall.

The Lancers placed 10th at the event out of 15 teams participating. The PCC men's team took 23rd out of 30 teams in the 8K race with Ernesto Rodriguez placing 128th (26:38.8) for the Lancers' top finish.

PCC is back in action Friday, October 2 at the Bakersfield Invitational. The races will be run at Bakersfield's Kern County Soccer Park.
