SCHEDULE ALERT--Today's PCC Mini Water Polo Tournament Canceled

Pasadena City College has canceled today's PCC Mini Tournament due to an unforseen heating problem at the Aquatic Center pool, PCC women's water polo head coach Terry Stoddard announced this morning.

The Lancers were scheduled to play two matches along with participants Citrus, Orange Coast, Ventura and Santa Monica Colleges. The tournament will not be rescheduled.

Stoddard said that he discovered this morning that the temperature of the pool dropped below the 78-degree minimum for the sport.

"While the pool heaters are working normally now, the pool's temperature is simply not warm enough to play," he said. "The safety and well-being of the student-athletes takes precedence. We couldn't promise to have the pool game temperature ready for the first games today, so we have no choice but to cancel."

The Lancers will participate next week at the South Coast Conference Tournament held November 5-7 at Chaffey College.
