Sports in the NewsThree Lancers Selected To All-SCC North Division Men's Basketball Team
It wasn't a great season for the Pasadena City College men's basketball team, but the team performance didn't prevent conference coaches of recognizing the efforts of three Lancers players chosen to the 2009-2010 All-South Coast Conference North Division Team. Sophomore forwards Elliott Berry and Jordan Block each were picked to the All-SCC North First Team, while freshman guard Shawn Hampton earned a Second Team selection. For Berry, he was the only player on this season's team to also have been chosen as a freshman. Block led the team in scoring with a 21 points-per-game average. He also added averages of 7 rebounds, 1.9 steals and 1.5 assists. Berry (pictured) averaged 15.3 points, 7.1 rebounds and 1.7 blocks. Hampton tallied 14.1 points, 3.1 rebounds and 3 assists per contest. He is a product of Dorsey High in Los Angeles. Berry hailed from Clovis West High in Fresno, and Block attended Claremont High in Rancho Cucamonga. Block was a transfer from Chaffey College. PCC is guided by head coach Michael Swanegan, who finished his third season behind the Lancers bench.
