The Pasadena City College softball team saved a split in a non-conference, doubleheader at Chaffey College by downing the Panthers, 10-2, in the second game Friday. PCC dropped the first game by an 8-2 count. In game 1, starting pitcher Amber Frame went 2-for-2 with a walk, but took the loss, allowing 3 earned runs in 3 innings (4 strikeouts). Second baseman Lupita Contreras batted 2-for-4. In game 2, Frame slugged a 2-run homer in the third inning to break a 1-1 tie. Playing her regular position of third base, the sophomore went 2-for-4 overall with 3 RBI. Contreras raised her team-leading batting average to .479 by going 3-for-5. Centerfielder Marissa Rangel also batted 3-for-5 with a double. The Lancers totaled 12 hits, including a 2-for-4 game from shortstop Tiffany Rubin.
