Track And Field Teams Take 5th At SCC 6-Way Meet

The Pasadena City College men's and women's track and field teams each placed fifth Feb. 26 in a South Coast Conference 6-way meet held at Long Beach City College.

PCC's only event victory came in the women's 800 meters when freshman Tracee van der Wyk raced a time of 2:21.37 to capture first place. Van der Wyk (pictured) also placed third in the 3,000 meters (10:42.19).

In the men's competition, freshman Isaiah Sims raced a 49.45 seconds time to take second place in the 400-meter dash. The 4x400 meter relay of Demetrius Hinton, Sims, Mandella Williams, and Richard Zarazua took third at 3:25.79. Zarazua grabbed fourth in the 800 meters at 1:58.17 while sophomore Ernesto Rodriguez placed fourth in the 3,000 meters at 9:04.46.
