The Pasadena City College men's swim season concluded with the Lancers' 17th place team finish at the CCCAA State Championship meet held April 29-May 1 at Mt. San Antonio College.

PCC has finished in the state top 20 in each of the last four seasons, including an eighth place in 2008, and 14th place marks in the 2007 and 2009 seasons.

Freshman Sharif Alaoui scored a majority of the team's 85 points, following his 200-yard freestyle victory with a second place overall in the 100-freestyle. Alaoui hit the wall at 46.29 seconds, just behind state champion Jeff Babcock (American River) at 45.87. Alaoui also swam to 10th place in the 200-butterfly with a time of 1:57.07.

Freshman Baldwin Ngai took 11th in the 200-breaststroke at 2:10.86.

The women's swim team did not qualify anyone for the top two finals heats and did not score at the meet. Ventura College captured the men's team championship while Orange Coast won the women's team title.

The Lancers were directed by head coach Terry Stoddard.
