State's 4th-Ranked Volleyball Sweeps At LA Harbor image

Ranked No. 4 in the state poll, the Pasadena City College women's volleyball team throttled host Los Angeles Harbor College, 25-16, 25-10, 25-18, in a South Coast Conference match Wednesday night.

The Lancers are one game back of first place in the SCC behind No. 3-rated El Camino College. PCC is 13-3 overall and 5-1 in conference play.

Against Harbor, Aliyyah Abdullah, the conference's kills per game leader, knocked down a match-high 14 kills and added two service aces. Miranda Doing added 12 kills while Markisha Richie and Kirsten Taylor had nine kills each.

Setter Danielle Stewart contributed 36 assists and nine digs. Libero Jessica Vargas tallied 17 digs.

The Lancers visit Long Beach City College Friday, Oct. 22 in a 6 p.m. SCC contest.
