Men's Basketball Hosts First Thanksgiving Classic Nov. 26-28

The Pasadena City College men's basketball team will host the first Pasadena Thanskgiving Classic tournament Friday-Sunday, Nov. 26-28 at Hutto-Patterson Gymnasium. The eight-team tourney features Long Beach City College, El Camino College Compton Center, Moorpark, Santa Monica, Barstow, American Sports University (ASU) of San Bernardino, and the Occidental College junior varsity.

Friday's first round games are scheduled for 1 p.m., 3 p.m., 5 p.m., and a 7 p.m. matchup between the Lancers and ASU. Saturday will be an early day semifinals affair to accommodate the PCC women's volleyball team's regional playoff at 7 p.m. that evening. Games on Nov. 27 run at 8 a.m., 10 a.m., 12 noon, and 2 p.m.

On Sunday, the consolation title game kicks off the day at 1 p.m., folllowed by the third place final at 3 p.m., and the championship final at 5 p.m.

The Lancers (3-2 this season) want to establish consistency at their home gym and with three possible home games, they feel the tourney will help them be ready for the 13-game South Coast Conference schedule.

General admission to the tourney can be purchased at the HP Gym front door for $5, and $3 for PCC employees and students with ID plus children under age 12. For more information on the tournament contact PCC Head Coach Mike Swanegan at 626-585-7783.
