Castro, Wallace Selected To All-SCC Women's Soccer Team
The 2010 Pasadena City College women's soccer season was the year of the defense so naturally two sophomore defenders were chosen to the All-South Coast Conference Team by conference coaches.
Analuisa Castro, from La Salle High, was chosen to the First Team and Amy Wallace, of Monrovia High, made it to the Second Team. Castro (pictured) and Wallace were consistent stalwarts defending the PCC goal, and helping goalies' Yvette Hernandez and Sarah Wallick limit opponents to a 1.30 goals against average, including seven shutouts.
The duo played in all 20 matches for first-year head coach Randy Lilavois. The team's final overall record has been adjusted to 8-7-5 overall after learning that Santa Ana forfeited its pre-conference 1-1 tie with the Lancers.
Brittany Austin, another frosh defender, received an All-SCC honorable mention.
Hernandez, a sophomore who posted a 0.95 goals against average, an .857 save percentage and six shutouts, did not make the all-conference selections due to limitations mandated by the conference coaches for lower-placing squads.
