Volleyball Ranked No. 6 In First State Top 25 Poll image

The undefeated Pasadena City College women's volleyball team was rated sixth in the first CCCWVCA State Top 25 poll released this week. The Lancers are 5-0 thus far, including an impressive 4-game win over No. 13 Cypress.

In now her fifth season at PCC, Lancers' head coach Tammy Silva has compiled an outstanding current overall record of 77-25 (.755 win percentage), including a mark of 50-7 (.877) since the beginning of the 2009 season.

Silva coached PCC to its first-ever South Coast Conference title in 2009, an undefeated conference season of 16-0. The Lancers advanced to the third round of the Southern California Regionals last year or essentially the state quarterfinals and final eight teams. In 2009, the team made it to the second round of the playoffs.

The Lancers are paced by '09 All-State setter Jessica Xu, sophomore outside hitter Ella Moe, and newcomer middle blocker Megan Callen.
