Sports in the NewsFootball's Williams Named NSC Defensive Player of Week
Pasadena City College freshman defensive back Jarron Williams, a local talent from John Muir High, was selected as the SCFA National Southern Conference Defensive Player of the Week for week No. 3. Williams intercepted two passes, returning one for a 35-yard touchdown in the Lancers' 39-9 victory at Los Angeles Valley College Sept. 17. The 5-foot-10, 180-pound Williams added four tackles and has 18 for the season. His two pickoffs were the first of the season by any Lancer. Williams will be back in action along with the rest of Coach Fred Fimbres' Lancers (2-1 record) when PCC travels to face College of the Desert on Saturday, Sept. 24. Kickoff is 6 p.m. at the Palm Desert campus stadium.
