The improving Pasadena City College women's water polo team won two of four games at the Citrus College Tournament Oct. 14-15.
The Lancers (7-10 overall) defeated Santa Monica, 12-9, and downed host Citrus, 6-2. Those wins sandwiched losses to LA Valley, 15-6, and El Camino, 6-4.
In the SMC win, Taylor Guidera powered four goals and Paloma Barrera chipped in two goals and four assists. Shelby Gregg played the entire match at goalie, making 10 saves and four blocks came while PCC was shorthanded due to exclusions.
In the Citrus victory, Makenzie Blank added to her team-leading goal total this season with four scores and the duo of Gregg and Naoni Padilla combined for 16 saves in defending the PCC goal. Milene Minassians was strong on defense with three steals.
