Committing six turnovers, five on fumbles, the Pasadena City College football team had little go right in a 40-6, SCFA National Southern Conference loss against host Palomar Saturday night at Escondido High's Wilson Stadium.

The Lancers (3-5, 1-2 in conference) were limited to the program's lowest points total in a game since Nov. 12, 2005 when they were blanked by Riverside. It took a defensive tandem playing offense to score PCC's lone touchdown.

The team's only sustained drive of the evening occurred in the second quarter. Freshman quarterback Zeek Julien, who relieved sophomore Cesar Hernandez in the first half, engineered a 14-play, 66-yard drive. Julien completed five passes before PCC Head Coach Fred Fimbres sent in defensive back Aaron Simpson in a red zone formation to play quarterback. Simpson handed it off to defensive lineman Chris Rincon, who bowled over a few Palomar tacklers into the end zone for a 1-yard touchdown.

Palomar (5-3, 2-1) relied on the clutch passing of quarterback David Fisher, who threw for four touchdowns.

PCC wide receiver Wayne Peters totaled 165 all-purpose yards, including nine receptions for 71 yards. He led the team in rushing with 27 yards in seven carries and added 67 yards in three kick returns. Julien completed 15 of 22 passes for 139 yards, but was sacked three times, intercepted once and lost a fumble.

The Lancers netted just 41 yards in 45 rushing plays and twice fumbled due to bad shotgun snaps from center. PCC's longest rush of the evening was a 16-yard run on a late-decision fake punt by kicker Robert Poage.

The Lancers' defense was led by defensive back Jarron Williams with 11 tackles while lineman Pone Faleofa had seven tackles, a 14-yard sack, and recovered a fumble. Tyrell Austin contributed an interception in the end zone that ended one Palomar series.

The Lancers return home Saturday, Nov. 5 when they host Grossmont College in a 6 p.m. kickoff at Robinson Stadium.
