Three Straight Wins For Women's Water Polo
Tied 8-8 after three quarters, the Pasadena City College women's water polo team erupted for five goals in the fourth period to lift the Lancers to their third consecutive victory, 13-9, at Rio Hondo College Wednesday.
Top scorer and sophomore Makenzie Blank scored four of her seven goals in the decisive fourth quarter. Blank has 79 goals to match her freshman season total and her 158 goals and counting are an all-time PCC record. She added five steals.
The Lancers finished 2-5 in South Coast Conference regular season dual matches and improved to 8-15 overall.
Paloma Barrera scored four goals from the center-forward spot and added two assists while touted freshman Marisa Rack added a goal, two assists and five steals. Second-year goalie Shelby Gregg made 10 saves and three steals. Three of her blocks were from point-blank range as Rio Hondo couldn't solve the talented netminder.
