SCC Water Polo Championships Moved To Cerritos, Nov. 1-3
The South Coast Conference water polo championships for both men and women has been moved to Cerritos College on Thursday, Nov. 1 through Saturday, Nov. 3. The event originally was to be hosted at the Pasadena City College Aquatic Center. Due to issues with the PCC pool's heating system, the conference decided to switch venues.
The PCC women's water polo team (9-16 overall) and the current sixth place team in the SCC will face third-place Chaffey in a 9 a.m. first round match on Thursday. If the Lancers win, they will play the winner of second place Long Beach City v. seventh place Rio Hondo at 3:45 p.m. If they lose to Chaffey, the Lancers face the loser of the LBCC-RHC match at 2:30 p.m.
The SCC Championships continue Saturday with PCC's game to be announced some time Thursday evening on this website. The men's championships will be on Friday and Saturday. PCC carries only a women's team.
Directed by head coach Terry Stoddard, the Lancers are led by the college's all-time leading scorer Makenzie Blank, who has 160 career goals, and goalie Shelby Gregg, who is second all-time in saves at PCC with 441.
