PCC Soccer Alumnus Cantero Named Honorable Mention NAIA All-American
Men's soccer player Francisco Cantero, a top defender at Pasadena City College in 2010, was named NAIA All-American honorable mention for his play as a senior at Kansas Wesleyan University.
Cantero's play on the outside edge in the back for the Coyotes was a huge reason that Kansas Weslyan went a perfect 9-0 in the KCAC for a third straight conference title.
Cantero shut down many a run from the opposing offenses along the outside edge before it could get started. He showed strong ball control skills, able to make several long runs up the outside and would routinely come up into an offensive position. He scored one goal and assisted two others during the season. Kansas Weslyan finished 16-3-2 overall and advanced to the national playoffs.
At PCC, Cantero played under head coach Edgar Manvelyan's first Lancers team. Cantero played his high school soccer at Marshall Fundamental.
