Daniel Gomez, a sophomore pitcher on the Pasadena City College baseball team, was chosen to the 2013 CCCBCA All-State Academic Team. Gomez was one of 18 players selected throughout the state's community college teams. Only six of those players were from Southern California region squads.

Gomez earned a 3.71 grade point average. Last season, Gomez was utilized as a fill-in third baseman, batting .291 while appearing in 16 South Coast Conference games. He is expected to be used exclusively as a pitcher this season.

A graduate of South Pasadena High, Gomez is majoring in sports medicine.
