Sports in the NewsWomen's Track Excels At Pasadena Relays
With the luxury of racing on its home Robinson Stadium track, the Pasadena City College women's track and field team recorded the second fastest times in the state this year in two relays during the Pasadena Relays held Feb. 22. The Lancers' 4x100 relay team raced a first-place 48.08 seconds, the fastest mark in Southern Caliornia thus far and second in the state to Laney's 47.49 top mark. Breanna Clark, Omhunique Browne, Kia Smith, and Taylor Matthews scored the victory. In the 4x400 relay, El Camino needed its state fastest time of 3:58.89 to beat PCC's squad of Clark, Browne, Sophia Amodia and Marquetta Stokes at 4:00.57. "The intention of the Pasadena Relays was to give us an opportunity to run at home, in front of the local community, but also to give everybody on our two teams a chance to race and show their skills," said PCC head coach Larry Wade. Team scoring was kept for this event as PCC took third place overall.
