PCC Softball Shortstop Thordarson Named All-SCC 1st Team
Pasadena City College shortstop Katelyn Thordarson, a freshman from Maranatha High, was named to the 13-player, All-South Coast Conference Softball First Team by conference coaches.
Thordarson batted .477 in 21 conference games, with three triples, a home run and 15 RBI. She hit .392 overall and led the Lancers in an bats (140), runs scored (38), hits (47), triples (three), home runs (two, tied with two others), RBI (29), and slugging percentage (.542). Defensively, her 78 fielding assists led the team as she exhibited a strong throwing arm in the middle infield.
Frosh second/third baseman Audrey Serna (Arroyo High) was chosen to the All-SCC Second Team after winning the team's batting title with a .408 overall average, including two home runs, 26 RBI, 17 walks, and a team-leading .492 on-base percentage. In SCC play, Serna hit .400, fielded an outstanding .984 (only one error in 62 chances), and knocked in 14 RBI.
Sophomore first baseman Natalie Ficocelli (Providence High, Burbank) picked up an All-SCC Honorable Mention, batting .328 overall with six doubles, one home run, 15 RBI and a team-best .986 fielding percentage. In SCC games, she hit .300 with five doubles, a homer and 12 RBI.
