In the history of Pasadena City College football, no opponent has given the Lancers more headaches than El Camino College. On Saturday night in Torrance, the woes that PCC have encountered in the past continued in a forgettable 43-7, SCFA non-conference defeat.

El Camino (3-0) won for the 26th time in 38 meetings with the Lancers, taking a 30-0 halftime lead. By game's end, the Warriors had outgained PCC in total offense, 585 yards to 228 and in first downs, 29 to 14.

The Lancers (0-3) avoided a shutout when reserve quarterback Andrew Mathews engineered an 11-play, 95-yard drive. He capped it with a 7-yard touchdown pass to sophomore wide receiver Micah Shirley with 3:29 left in the contest. Running back Travion Boykins made PCC's longest play of the game during the series on a 25-yard run into El Camino territory.

El Camino quarterback Cole Webb completed 21 of 30 passes for 309 yards and three touchdowns. The Warriors, feeling that being ahead 36-0 wasn't enough, threw eight passes during a scoring series by their starting unit midway through the third quarter. Webb drilled a 13-yard TD pass to Jaiquis Shows with six minutes left in the period to make it 43-0.

The Lancers' highlights included a better rushing game with sophomore Marciss Grigsby totaling 61 yards in 14 carries, Boykins 42 yards in five attempts, and Khyree Morgan with 29 yards in seven touches. Starting quarterback Darrian Cazarin completed 14 of 27 passes for only 96 yards. He was sacked three times. Sophomore receiver Marcus Green totaled a team-high four receptions for 23 yards.

On defense, safety Rodon Ogilvie made 11 tackles and broke up a pass while fellow safety Austin Alexander contributed seven tackles (team-high five solo). Letterman lineman Dalyou Pierson added four tackles, including his team-best third sack of the season.

The Lancers open their National Northern Conference part of the schedule Saturday, Sept. 28 against College of the Canyons. Kickoff at Robinson Stadium is 6 p.m.
