Dashon Wade Named SCFA Defensive Player Of The Week
Sophomore Dashon Wade was chosen SCFA National Northern Conference Defensive Player of the Week for his performance in the Pasadena City College football team's 19-17 win over Allan Hancock on October 26.
Wade, a defensive back, made a PCC season-high 17 tackles, broke up a pass, and made a game-saving play in forcing and recovering a fumble in the final two minutes of the road contest.
Wade, a letterman from East Orange High, N.J., had the highest game total for a Lancer tackler since linebacker Adrian Ferns recorded 17 in a game v. College of the Canyons on Nov. 8, 2008. No PCC player has made as many tackles going back to at least 2003 and Wade's 11 solo tackles is the most by a Lancer in the past 10 years.
PCC head coach Fred Fimbres said the 5-foot-10, 175-pound safety has received solid scholarship offers from the University of Idaho and the University of Arkansas-Pine Bluff.
