Men's Hoops Win 5th In A Row, Move Into Finals Of Imperial Valley Classic image

The Pasadena City College men's basketball team advanced to the finals of the Imperial Valley College Holiday Classic, defeating the host Arabs, 74-52, Saturday night. The Lancers won their fifth straight game, improved to 11-4, and now face Glendale College of Arizona in the championship final Sunday at 3 p.m.

PCC opened a 36-20 halftime lead and controlled the semifinal from start to finish.

Lancers sophomore forward Taj Spencer scored 19 points and pulled down a season-high 18 rebounds. Sophomore guard Jeffrey Dockett added 18 points while frosh guard Adrian Miles sank four 3-point bombs as part of his 16 points (plus four assists).

Rashad Smith had one of his best games of the year as the sophomore guard scored nine points, grabbed eight rebounds with two steals and two assists. Freshman guard Jevon Shields sank two of the team's eight 3-point baskets and finished with eight points.
