Dockett Joins 500-Point Club For Men's Basketball
With his 18 points scored Wednesday in his team's South Coast Conference opener v. East Los Angeles, Pasadena City College men's basketball point guard Jeffrey Dockett became the 68th player to reach the Lancers' 500-point club for his career.
In 40 games played over two seasons, Dockett's total has reached 517 points for an average per game of 12.9 per contest. The 5-foot-10 Dockett is a versatile scorer, who can shoot 3-pointers as well as using jackrabbit-like speed to get to the basket for layups.
Dockett is from Bartlett High in Memphis, Tenn. He was an all-tournament selection at four different tourneys in 2013 pre-conference play. He scored his season high of 29 points in a an early-season win over Ventura.
PCC head coach Michael Swanegan has now seen five of his players reach at least 500 points in his seven seasons at the college, including 2007-08 state leading scorer Harold Cleveland, one of only 11 Lancers who have reached 1,000 points.
