PCC's DeZotell Named SoCal Baseball Player of the Week

PCC's DeZotell Named SoCal Baseball Player of the Week image

After a highly productive opening few games to his collegiate career, Pasadena City College baseball team centerfielder PJ DeZotell was honored as the CCCBCA SoCal Player of the Week for January 27-February 3. 

DeZotell, a freshman from St. Francis High in La Canada-Flintridge, batted 6-for-12 (.500) with two doubles, a triple, a walk and four RBI in the Lancers' opening three games. His 2-run triple helped PCC defeat Antelope Valley, 9-6, on Jan. 31. 

Defensively, DeZotell made 10 putouts, including a pair of diving catches in the season opener v. Los Angeles Mission on Jan. 27. 

TODAY'S GAME POSTPONED TO FRIDAY, FEB. 7

The Lancers game scheduled today, Feb. 6, at Oxnard College has been postponed due to impending rain in the area. The non-conference contest has been moved to Friday, Feb. 7 at 2 p.m.

PCC will open its home schedule at Brookside Park's Jackie Robinson Memorial Field on Saturday, Feb. 8 in a doubleheader against Cerro Coso. First game begins at 11 a.m.
