BREAKING NEWS: Safety Concerns Postpones Basketball Playoffs, PCC Sports Events

Due to the heavy rain throughout the San Gabriel Valley and Los Angeles County, Pasadena City College has decided to postpone athletic events scheduled for Friday, Feb. 28. Men's and women's basketball playoff games have been canceled as well as a PCC swim meet and home softball game.

Tonight's Round 2 game of the Southern California Regional Playoffs between the PCC women's team against College of the Canyons has been postponed to Saturday, Mar. 1 at Hutto-Patterson Gymnasium. Tip-off is 7 p.m.  Tonight's scheduled men's basketball Round 2 playoff at Saddleback College has also been postponed until Saturday with a new game time of 5 p.m. in Mission Viejo.

PCC Superintendent-President Dr. Mark W. Rocha announced that the PCC main campus is closed today at 12 noon and that all transportation be canceled because of the rain conditions,  which has caused flooding in some areas of the San Gabriel Valley area, as a safety precaution.

Today's scheduled PCC softball game against Los Angeles Mission College at Robinson Park has been canceled as well as Friday's scheduled South Coast Conference opening swim meet for the Lancers' men's and women's swim teams at Rio Hondo College. Those events will be rescheduled for a later date.
