The Pasadena City College softball team collected a season-high 22 hits and posted a 2014 high in runs in routing host Los Angeles Harbor, 20-9, in a South Coast Conference game called after six innings.

It was the first time the Lancers scored at least 20 runs in three years. PCC improved to 13-24 overall and 5-15 in conference. Harbor dropped to 2-31 and 0-20.

The Lancers scored six runs in both the second and third innings, and five more in the sixth. PCC hit seven doubles and two players had 4-hit performances while three others picked up three hits each. Leading the way was first baseman Sara Quintero, who went 4-for-5 with two doubles and designated player Jennifer Pegg, who also was 4-for-5.

Rightfielder Vanessa Cortez batted 3-for-5 with two doubles and four RBI. Catcher Allison Lacey was 3-for-4 with four runs scored and three RBI. Shortstop Breanna Rodrigo hit 3-for-5 with a double, two stolen bases, three runs scored and two runs driven in. Leftfielder Viviana Ordaz was 2-for-3 with three runs scored while third baseman Karen Najera went 2-for-5, including a double and two RBI.

Second baseman Samantha Duran added a RBI double. Pitcher Alissa Barcena was the beneficiary of the offensive explosion as she improved to 6-2 this year despite allowing six hits and five earned runs in four innings of work. For LA Harbor, pitcher Keila Belch batted 3-for-4, slugging two home runs and knocking in four RBI.

The Lancers will close the 2014 season on Tuesday, April 22 when they host East Los Angeles in a 2 p.m. game at Robinson Park.
