Football's Wade Signs With Southern Miss
Pasadena City College football defensive back Dashon Wade, a 2013 All-National Northern Conference Second Team selection, has signed a letter of intent to play and attend the University of Southern Mississippi.
A two-year letterman for the Lancers, Wade came into his own as a sophomore safety as he led PCC in overall tackles (62), solo tackles (35), and forced fumbles (three). He added four pass break-ups, an interception and two recovered fumbles.
At the NCAA Division I Southern Miss, Wade (from East Orange High, New Jersey) will be a part of a Golden Eagles program that is a member of Conference USA.
FOOTBALL TRANSFERS RISES TO 13
Defensive lineman Jonathan White (Hamilton High, Los Angeles, 16 tackles in 2013) has signed on with Benedectine University (Kansas). Linebacker Brian Sanchez (Granada Hills) will go to Whittier on an academic scholarship. Defensive back Gabriel West (North Little Rock, Arkansas) will attend Henderson State University (also in Arkansas).
With the four signings, the PCC sophomore football class of '13 is now up to 13 transfers, the largest transfer group in three seasons under head coach Fred Fimbres.
