Men's Basketball Loses To Mt. SAC, Plays For 3rd Place Saturday
The Pasadena City College men's basketball team ran into its South Coast Conference North Division nemesis Mt. San Antonio Friday at the 40th Santa Barbara City College Classic. As has been the case in recent years, the state No. 4-ranked Mounties posted a 79-66 victory over the unranked Lancers in the championship semifinals.
Pasadena (2-6) will play Cypress for third place at the tourney Saturday, Dec. 8 at 5 p.m.
Lancers' guard Mike Swanegan continued his hot-shooting efforts, scoring 24 points, including drilling five 3-point bombs. Swanegan is averaging better than 20 points per game this season. He was the only PCC player to score in double digits as Gary Matthews followed with nine points.
Corey Allen scored 20 points and Garrett Nevels had 19 points for the Mounties, now 6-1.
