PCC WR Alum Kemonte Bateman Signs With Denver Broncos
Kemonte Batemen, a wide receiver who played on the 2009-2010 Pasadena City College football team, has signed a rookie free agent contract with the NFL's Denver Broncos.
Bateman caught 55 passes for 775 yards with eight touchdowns and added a punt return for a TD in his two seasons at PCC. He then earned a scholarship to New Mexico State University, playing the 2011 and 2012 seasons for the Aggies.
At New Mexico State, Bateman played under another PCC alumnus in head coach DeWayne Walker. He finished with 77 receptions for 1,129 yards and nine touchdowns, including a collegiate high of 50 catches as a senior in 2012.
In a 2009 game for the Lancers, Bateman pulled in three touchdown catches in a 49-27 victory over East Los Angeles College. A communications major, Bateman came to PCC after being an All-Los Angeles City performer at Crenshaw High.
