DL Pierson Leads PCC Football Contingent For All-SCFA NNC Team

Pasadena City College football team defensive lineman Dalyou Pierson, who made 10.5 sacks to lead the region, was named to the 2013 All-SCFA National Northern Conference First Team. Pierson was joined on the First Team by offensive lineman Raul Martinez. Both players are sophomores who concluded their 2-year Lancers careers this month.

Pierson, who is the first two-year All-SCFA selection under current head coach Fred Fimbres, is a 6-3, 265-pounder from Independence High (Bakersfield) while Martinez, a 6-4, 285-pound guard, played prep ball at Burroughs (Burbank). Pierson made 48 tackles overall and led the Lancers in quarterback hurries with seven.

The Lancers added several All-SCFA NNC Second Teamers in sophomore wide receiver Marcus Green (Pasadena High, 30 receptions, led team in receiving, kick and punt returns), sophomore offensive lineman Miguel Machado, a 6-6, 275-pound tackle from Miami Carol City HS (Florida), sophomore safety Dashon Wade (East Orange, New Jersey, led PCC in tackles with 62), sophomore defensive tackle Craig Settles (6-4, 310, Glendale Hoover High, 28 tackles, four sacks), and freshman outside linebacker Roy Torres (Northview High, Covina, 46 tackles).

The seven players selected marked the most players chosen from a Lancers team in the Fimbres' era (since 2011).
