Education Portal Criminal Justice Award

Description:

A $500 award will be given to a student pursuing any associate or bachelor degree program emphasizing Criminal Justice or Law Enforcement. Areas of study that will be considered include Criminal Justice, Law Enforcement, Homeland Security, Sociology with Law/Criminal emphasis, Corrections, Computer Forensics, and Forensic Psychology among others.

* Number of Awards: One per year
* Deadline: April 1st of each year

Focus

Applicants should be pursuing a degree within a related Criminal Justice or Law Enforcement program emphasis, such as one of the following:

* Associate of Criminal Justice Degree Programs
* Associate of Law Enforcement Degree Programs
* Associate of Computer Forensics Degree Programs
* Bachelor of Criminal Justice Degree Programs
* Bachelor of Corrections Degree Programs
* Bachelor of Forensic Psychology Degree Programs

Selection Criteria

Selection will be based on academic history and extracurricular activities. Financial need will not be considered.

Funds

The winner will be notified following the deadline and the award will be sent directly to the recipient by check to the permanent mailing address noted in the application.

Eligibility Criteria

* Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent U.S. Resident
* Must be enrolled (or accepted) in an accredited college or university and planning on continuing the next year.
* Graduating high school seniors who meet the above mentioned criteria may apply.
* Must have a minimum of 30 semester or 45 quarter hours still to be completed.
* Must consent to provide a digital photograph of self and quote for display on Education-Portal.com if notified as the award winner by the selection committee.
