Description:

Jack Kent Cooke Undergraduate Transfer Scholarship

The Foundation’s Undergraduate Transfer Scholarships are awarded to the nation’s top two-year or community college students who have financial need. The selection process for these awards is rigorous and highly competitive, with approximately 50 scholarships awarded each year out of hundreds of nominees.

Prospective candidates must first be nominated by the Jack Kent Cooke Foundation Faculty Representative at their two-year schools. Students must be currently enrolled at an accredited US community college or two-year institution with sophomore status as of December 31, 2009, or be a recent graduate (since spring 2005).

In addition, applicants must have achieved a cumulative college grade-point average of 3.50 or better on a 4.0 scale (or the equivalent) and plan to transfer to a four-year college or university to commence studies in the fall of 2010.

MINIMUM ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
• Be a current student at an accredited US community college or two-year institution with sophomore status by December 31, 2009, or a recent graduate (since spring 2005).

• Be nominated by his or her two-year institution.
