News: Turnovers Hurting Men'S Cagers
The 2012-2013 Pasadena City College men's basketball team is off to a disappointing 1-5 start and the Lancers' 87-70 non-conference defeat at Santa Monica Nov. 30 repeated the team's current problem--making too many turnovers. PCC commited 28 turnovers v. the Corsairs and have averaged 19 a game. In the SMC defeat, Lancers' sophomore guard Mike Swanegan tallied 23 points, including making four 3-pointers and sophomore guard Evan Brooks (pictured) added 15 points (5-for-5 from the line). Sophomore forward Alec Tatum was 6-for-6 on free throws as part of his 10 points plus he recorded six rebounds. PCC converted 82 percent of its attempts from the 15-foot stripe (18-of-22). The Lancers play at the 40th Santa Barbara City College Classic Thursday-Saturday, Dec. 6-8. PCC opens with a 5 p.m. game v. Los Angeles Valley College on Thuesday, Dec. 6.
