The Pasadena City College women's basketball team opens the 2012-2013 season on Friday, Nov. 9 by hosting the annual Veteran's Day Classic tip-off tournament at Hutto-Patterson Gymnasium. The three-day event will feature nine round-robin games between six colleges.

The Lancers will begin the season by facing Southwestern College in a 7 p.m. tipoff Friday. On Saturday, Nov. 10, PCC takes on Irvine Valley (7 p.m.), and on Sunday, Nov. 11, the Lancers conclude things with a 4 p.m. late afternoon affair v. Cypress. Taft and Citrus also are participating in the tournament. The complete schedule for the Veteran's Day Classic is at the following link:

PCC is directed by head coach Joe Peron, who is in his 17th season in charge of the Lancers. Peron is 10 victories shy of 400 in his career. He guided the Lancers to the 2009 CCCAA state championship and six South Coast Conference champion teams.
