December 2012, Souhiek Nam

Souhiek Nam has been working as a math tutor at the Learning Assistance Center since fall of 2009 .  During this time, she has distinguished herself as an excellent student employee.

Souhiek is known for her patient, mellow temperament and her ability to listen well and explain concepts clearly to students, carefully guiding them into their own understanding of each problem. She is always smiling and cheerful, and as an employee she is responsible, reliable, dependable, and dedicated to helping students.

Students express their appreciation for her, and Souhiek considers the friendships she has made with students, coworkers, and supervisors to be priceless.

Ms. Nam recently graduated from PCC's Nursing program.  Her career goal is to become a nurse, and she is well suited for this profession, as she has the heart to help and to care for people.  Her next step is to pass the state board exam, and she would like to work in a hospital’s cardiac unit.

In her free time,  Souhiek enjoys yoga as a way to both exercise and relax her muscles and mind.  She is also a fan of YouTube, and she loves the channels on health science and math, as well as Cambodian movies.

The LAC staff is proud to honor Souhiek Nam for her valued contribution to the Learning Assistance Center and the students of Pasadena City College.

Congratulations, Souhiek!
