News: Outstanding Student Employee Award
May 2013, Shenesha Franklin
Shanesha Franklin came to work in the Computer Learning Center in February 2011. During her time with the CLC, she has more than lived up to the high expectations of the department and has demonstrated the characteristics of an excellent employee. Ms. Franklin is a high achieving and tenacious student who maintains an exemplary rapport with and support to the students, staff, and faculty that utilize the Center.
Shanesha is a great team player and a good fit with the other staff members that operate the labs. In a typical work day, Shanesha will do some or all of the following: check students into and out of the lab, assist students at the work stations, and troubleshoot hardware and software problems, either fixing them herself or obtaining assistance from computer support services. Because of her exemplary work and positive demeanor towards her fellow co-workers, she received the Outstanding Student Employee Award for her consistent, high level support performed through our department.
In her free time, Shanesha lives out her passion for working with foster youth. With the adversity she has faced as a foster child and now a single mother, full-time student, and part-time employee, she understands the meaning of hard work. She mentors other former foster youth in our department by demonstrating a great work ethic and excellent customer service skills. Ms. Franklin has a unique way of empowering these youth and advising them on how to overcome school and work challenges. As a sociology major at PCC, her goal is to transfer to Cal State LA to complete her Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology.
The Computer Learning Center is proud to honor Shanesha Franklin for her highly valued service to Pasadena City College.
