Lisa Krohn is the creative director and vision behind Krohn Design. Her design approach reflects her belief that the best ideas are hybrids blending several different fields. Combining elements from art history and architecture, Lisa tinkers with ideas and forms until they disintegrate and recombine in new ways. Lisa brings her fascination with organic solutions found in nature to the unique strategic solutions for how we interact with the material and ephemeral world. Following her studies in art and art history at Brown University, Lisa completed an MFA in design at the Cranbrook Academy of Art then received a Fulbright fellowship to Milan to work with Mario Bellini. Lisa has served as designer, consultant and strategic thinker for clients including Herman Miller, Alessi and Walt Disney Imagineering. She has received numerous design accolades, including Grand Prize in the Forma Finlandia competition, the Daimler Chrysler Award for Innovation in Design and the Rome Prize. Her pieces are in permanent collections of design museums the world over and she has taught at various schools including Art Center College of Design.
This Series is made possible by the Pasadena City College Foundation and the Visual, Media and Perfoming Art Department Faculty and Staff.
