The way the Pasadena City College women's volleyball team was flipping aces Friday, it may have wanted to exit Hutto-Patterson Gymnasium and race immediately to the nearest casino. The Lancers put on a serving clinic at the expense of Los Angeles Harbor College, serving 19 aces in a 25-5, 25-12, 25-7, South Coast Conference victory. The match took just 49 minutes to complete.

PCC frosh outside hitter Nora To'omalatai served five of those aces on one sideout as the Lancers set the tone with a 14-1 lead to open the match. To'omalatai finished with team highs in kills with 10 and aces with six. The 19 aces is the most in a match by a Silva-coached team (sixth season).

The state No. 12-ranked Lancers emptied their bench as 11 different players recorded at least one attack kill. Six players had two or more aces including Thula Parks, Viridiana Gallardo, and Kailey Faust with three each. In playing just two sets, Faust made 22 assists.

Pasadena is 9-3 overall and 3-0 in conference play. The Lancers are undefeated at the HP Gym at 5-0.

"We picked up the tempo and then kept it going without falling into any lulls," said PCC head coach Tammy Silva. "Harbor could not handle our serves. We have several players on our team who can put some really good English on the ball and serve with power. I was happy to see some our reserves pick up points for us."

PCC will next play at Long Beach City College, a team that pushed El Camino to five sets Friday in a defeat, on Wednesday, October 10. Match time is 6 p.m.
