Women's Freshmen Place High At State Cross Country Meet

Although the Pasadena City College women's team's 14th placing at the CCCAA State Cross Country Championships wasn't as high it had hoped, two freshmen runners gave the Lancers reason to think next year could be a far better result.

The Pasadena City College women's cross country team took 10th place at the Southern California Championships Friday, the school's highest finish this century at the annual event. It was another feather in the hat of head coach Armand Crespo, who has raised the Lancers to become one of the region's top programs in his seven years in charge at PCC.

A Grate Day Highlights Cross Country At SCC Finals

For an entire regular season, Pasadena City College head cross country coach Armand Crespo enjoyed the luxury of having two top racers on his 2013 women's team. But at the South Coast Conference Championships Friday at Long Beach's Heartwell Park, a third runner emerged to upstage the more heralded duo of Christina Shamirian and Tansica Sunkamaneevongse.

Final Prep For Big 3 By Cross Country

The preparation is over for the Pasadena City College men's and women's cross country teams following their performances at the Cal State University San Marcos Cougar Challenge on October 19. The women's team placed fourth out of eight teams while the men's squad was seventh among nine squads participating.

Lancers Enjoy Rose City Running Classic

Pasadena City College cross country head coach Armand Crespo wanted to bring some excitement to a sport here that doesn't lend itself to having a home course or home field. So the Lancers ran the inaugural Rose City Running Classic Friday under the lights at Pasadena's Brookside Golf Course, next to the Rose Bowl.

PCC Women Cross Country Runner-Up At Foothill Invitational

The Pasadena City College women's cross country team took second place out of 10 teams at the 9th Foothill Invitational meet held Friday at Guasti-Cucamonga Park in Ontario. The Lancers placed three runners in the top 15 out of 93 overall participating racers.

S&S Duo Helps Women's Cross Country Take 10th At SoCal Preview Meet

The Pasadena City College women's cross country team has a race on its hands, not the races they participate in as much as the competition to see which Lancers runner is fastest. The duo of sophomore Christina Shamirian and freshman Tansica Sunkamaneevongse continued that friendly battle on Sept. 13 as their high finishes helped PCC take 10th place out of 30 teams at the SoCal Preview Meet held at College of the Canyons.
