Three Lancers Softball Players Named All-SCC

Sophomore utility player Audrey Serna, sophomore catcher Allison Lacey, and freshman second baseman Justine Zavala were the Pasadena City College selections on the 2014 All-South Coast Conference Second Team. No Lancers were picked to the First Team.

Softball Season Ends, Asst. Coach Mary Geer Retires

The Pasadena City College softball team closed the 2014 season Tuesday with a 6-2 loss to co-South Coast Conference champion East Los Angeles. While the Lancers finished their first season under a new head coach in Monica Tantlinger, the program honored long-time assistant coach Mary Geer as she announced her retirement from PCC softball.

Softball Rings Up Season Highs In 20-9 Win Over LAHC

The Pasadena City College softball team collected a season-high 22 hits and posted a 2014 high in runs in routing host Los Angeles Harbor, 20-9, in a South Coast Conference game called after six innings.

Serna's Homer Not Enough In Softball Loss To Glendale

First baseman Audrey Serna slugged a solo home run, the first all season by a Lancer at home, but it wasn't enough as the Pasadena City College softball team lost to Glendale, 6-4, in a non-conference, make-up game played Saturday at Robinson Park. The game was originally scheduled for March 1 but was rained out.

With leading hitter and catcher Allison Lacey scratched from the starting lineup due to injury suffered in warmups, the Pasadena City College softball team looked to a batter to replace her offensive prowess in Tuesday's South Coast Conference game at El Camino College-Compton Center.

Pasadena City College’s women’s softball team spent a Saturday afternoon near its old diamond at Brookside Park recently, but this outing didn’t include softballs, bats or gloves.

Reserves Lift Softball Over Harbor, 11-6

For the first few innings Tuesday, the Pasadena City College softball team looked out of sorts in its South Coast Conference game against visiting Los Angeles Harbor. The Lancers jumped out to a 4-1 lead, but quickly fell behind, 6-4, by the top of the third inning.

Pasadena City College softball team catcher Allison Lacey was named the California Community Community College Fastpitch Coaches Association (3CFCA) Southern California Player of the Week for March 3-9.

Offense Improving For Softball

After its first 10 games, the Pasadena City College softball team had generated an average of a little more than three runs a game. At that point, the Lancers were 2-8. Since that stretch, PCC's offense has picked up the pace and in the process the team has prospered in the win column.

Catcher Lacey Leads Softball To Golden West Consolation Title

Pasadena City College softball team catcher Allison Lacey has become the Lancers' most consistent player this season. Lacey put on a hitting clinic March 7-8 as PCC won three of four games and the consolation title at the annual Golden West Tournament.

A Daily Double For Softball: First Conference Win Is First Home Win

After struggling to find some rhythm at the plate this year, sophomores Sara Quintero and Audrey Serna came up clutch for the Pasadena City College softball team on Thursday. The pair rallied the Lancers by knocking in two runs to defeat El Camino College-Compton Center, 7-6, for PCC's first South Coast Conference win of the season. The triumph was also the Lancers' first at Robinson Park in seven attempts this year.

ELAC's Medina Outlasts PCC's Ramirez, 1-0, In 10-Inning Duel

Pasadena City College softball lefty Casey Ramirez used solid control and kept East Los Angeles off-balance in blanking the Huskies for the first nine innings Tuesday. Unfortunately for Ramirez, ELAC's Alashanee Medina overpowered PCC's hitters and set her school record for strikeouts with 21 as the Lancers fell in 10 innings, 1-0, at Robinson Park.

Softball Encouraged By DH Sweep Over Oxnard

The Pasadena City College women's softball team picked itself up on Saturday with a doubleheader sweep at Oxnard College, 2-1 and 9-2. While the Lancers lost a close one at El Camino, 4-3, Tuesday in a South Coast Conference game, they are showing signs of the type of game-by-game competitiveness that first-year head coach Monica Tantlinger is striving to make happen.

For the third time this season, the Pasadena City College softball team was blanked at its home diamond, Robinson Park. But its 6-0, South Coast Conference loss Thursday v. perennial state power Cerritos College showed some encouraging signs for the Lancers.

Pegg Fits For Softball In Coach Tantlinger's First Win

After 10 innings without a run this season, the Pasadena City College softball team was just looking to cross the plate for the first time in 2014 on Friday night. Enter freshman designated player Jennifer Pegg who delivered the big hit to help Monica Tantlinger pick up her first victory as PCC head coach in a 2-0 blanking of Imperial Valley at the College of the Desert Best on Grass Tournament.

Softball Outlook Bright Under New Coach Tantlinger

New Pasadena City College women's softball head coach Monica Tantlinger knows the hard work that it takes to move a program in the right direction. Her experience includes her coaching in NCAA Division I programs like Cal State Fullerton (player and coach), UC Riverside, and Purdue University. She hopes to teach her PCC student-athletes the value of "work ethic" as they enter a new season in 2014.

PCC Hires New Softball Head Coach

Monica Platts-Tantlinger has been hired as Pasadena City College's new softball head coach. The part-time position will allow Platts-Tantlinger to make her Lancers' debut to begin the 2014 season in January.
