PCC Volleyball Alumna Nora To'omalatai In Pacific Games

Nora To'omalatai, a two-time All-South Coast Conference outside hitter for Pasadena City College's women's volleyball team in 2012-13, is playing for the American Samoa national team this week at the XV Pacific Games held in Port Moresby, New Guinea.

Longobardi PCC's Lone All-SCC Women's VB Selection

Lahiz Longobardi was the only Pasadena City College player selected to the 2014 All-South Coast Conference women's volleyball team as a member of the Second Team. It is the first time since 2006 that the Lancers didn't place a player on the conference First Team.

Kari Post Named Acting PCC Women's Volleyball Coach

Kari Post, an assistant the past two seasons at Pasadena City College, was named acting head coach of the Lancers women's volleyball program Wednesday by Athletic Director Tony Barbone.

Women's Volleyball Concludes '14 Season

After winning a sweep at Los Angeles Harbor College November 14, the Pasadena City College women's volleyball team closed its 2014 season Wednesday when it was swept by host and five-time, South Coast Conference champion El Camino College, 25-12, 25-14, 25-11. The Lancers saw a 6-year streak of advancing to the SoCal playoffs end as well.

State No. 10 El Camino Sweeps Volleyball

Friday night's loss to state No. 10-ranked and South Coast Conference leader El Camino College was not the first time the Pasadena City College women's volleyball team got swept in a home match. But rarely has a Lancers' team been dominated as it had in the final two sets of a 25-19, 25-7, 25-10 defeat at Hutto-Patterson Gymnasium.

Lancers' Volleyball Picks Up First Sweep

The Pasadena City College women's volleyball team evened its South Coast Conference record at 3-3 behind its first sweep of the season, a 25-23, 25-20, 25-22 triumph over Los Angeles Harbor College Friday night. The match was played at Hutto-Patterson Gymnasium.

LBCC Outlasts Women's VB In 5

Long Beach City College stopped the Pasadena City College women's volleyball team's 2-match win streak Friday in defeating the Lancers in five sets. The Vikings downed PCC, 26-24, 14-25, 25-21, 20-25, 15-6, at Hutto-Patterson Gymnasium. It was the first time this season that the Lancers played a match to five games.

Volleyball Recovers And Wins 2nd Straight

Leading 20-13 in the first set Wednesday at South Coast Conference opponent Los Angeles Trade Tech, the Pasadena City College women's volleyball team entered a phase that has been a familiar trait with the '14 Lancers. The team lost its focus and was outscored, 12-3, in falling behind 1-0 in the match.

The Pasadena City College women's volleyball team snapped a season-long, 9-match losing streak by defeating East Los Angeles, 25-20, 25-18, 16-25, 25-19, in a South Coast Conference match at Hutto-Patterson Gymnasium Friday night.

Volleyball Pushes Mt. SAC, But Not Enough In SCC Opener

While the Pasadena City College women's volleyball team showed improvement in performance Friday night during its home and South Coast Conference opening match, the Lancers couldn't muster enough to extend things in a 25-20, 25-20, 28-26 loss to Mt. San Antonio.

Volleyball Struggling Entering SCC Play

The Pasadena City College women's volleyball team won a set v. state No. 16-ranked Pierce during the Pierce-hosted Brahmas Invitational September 26-27. Right now, it's the only "win" PCC has recorded in a rough 0-6 match start to the 2014 season. The Lancers played hard in in a 4-set loss to Pierce, but were swept by unranked Bakersfield and No. 20 San Diego Mesa.

Tough Start For Women's Volleyball

Thanks to the combination of a rough beginning and a scheduling quirk, it will be a long while before the Pasadena City College women's volleyball team wins its first match in 2014. The Lancers opened the season with three losses over two days in matches against Pacific Coast Athletic Conference teams.
